5. Hidden Falls Adventure Park, Texas

A private, outdoor playground for all off-road vehicles, Hidden Falls Adventure Park has everything you hope for and more as an ATV destination. Hidden Falls offers many different trail designs for all experience levels, from newbies to professional adventurers. This private park has cabins and RV accommodations for anyone who wants to make a weekend trip to enjoy the 30+ trails across 2,000 acres of beautiful Texas Hill Country. For those of you looking for a major challenge, many visitors suggest the Park’s North Loop, a one-way trail, to get your adrenaline pumping. From bunny trails like Hog Alley to intense trails like Centex Loop, North Peak, and Turkey Run Spur, Hidden Falls has something for everyone seeking an ideal ATV destination.

4. Dumont Dunes, California

Forty miles north of Baker, California, you’ll find the vast Dumont Dunes OHV Area. The iconic dunes are considered among the best ATV locations in the world. Adventure seekers come to this location for the dunes but also the dirt trails in the surrounding desert area, which offer different terrains for riding. The big bowls and steep climbs throughout the massive oasis will challenge even the most experienced rider. Plus, Dumont Dunes has camping accommodations where visitors can spend up to 14 days in the desert terrain. One pro-tip: if you’re going to explore the dunes during the summer months, bring lots of water, as temperatures can climb to 120 degrees Fahrenheit during the warmest months.

3. Capitol State Forest, Washington

From the woodlands and desert terrains of Texas and California to the lush forests of Washington state, number three on our list is Capitol State Forest. The Pacific Northwest offers some of the most breathtaking views of any place in the country. This park offers more than 80 miles of off-road trails through the mossy forests of Washington. From mountain streams to lush forests, Capitol State offers you a unique experience in a vast, 110,000-acre forest. Because Washington state is known for its rainy seasons, you’ll want to keep an eye on the weather to avoid getting stuck on muddy trails.

2. Arizona Peace Trail, Arizona

Covering nearly 800 miles of trails throughout Mohave, La Paz, and Yuma counties, the Arizona Peace Trail is a great location to bring your ATV for a weekend getaway, and it’s entirely free to ride. The Trail was established in 2014 by the Peace Trail Committee with a mission to “develop, maintain, and promote one of the nation’s premiere OHV trail systems.” There are also 10 historic and scenic locations throughout the trail to enjoy, and all experience levels are welcome to explore.

Red Rocks of Utah

1. Paiute ATV Trail System, Utah

One of the best maintained and well-mapped OHV trail systems in the country, Paiute ATV Trail System is widely considered to be the largest trail system in the United States. It covers nearly 2,500 miles with scenic lakefront views, breathtaking rock formations, and so much more. The Paiute ATV Trail offers something for everyone, from beginners to avid riders. Of all the beautiful scenery there is to take in along these trails, many believe that Bullion Canyon is perhaps one of the best experiences of the trail due in part to Bullion Falls, a stunning waterfall that makes for a great photo op! Every August, surrounding towns participate in the Paiute Trail Jamboree, an event that brings in people from all around to enjoy the OHV trails. The Paiute Trails offer many events throughout the year that are fun for the whole family.
